You chose to investigate the rustling noise in the passageway. You and Lily begin to walk back through the passage towards the noise. You are headed down the dark hallway and can barely see in front of you. Suddenly, you see a flickering light ahead as you try to feel your way through the passage. Lily is tightly gripping your shirt from behind you as you lead the way. The light disappears for a while. Then you see the light coming closer and it begins to stop flickering. You realize that it is somebody carrying a light. They are saying something to you, but with all the echoing against the walls, you cannot understand what they are saying. You keep walking and Lily slowly begins to let go of your shirt now that there is light for her to see. As you get closer you are able to make out the words that the mysterious person is saying to you. It’s Mrs. Applebee, and she has been searching for you and Lily. She calls your names one more time, and you and Lily walk back to the classroom with her. You did not find your way out of the school, but Mrs. Applebee explains that it is safer to be inside the school than out in the cold.
